We are thrilled to announce that KC8 Capture Technology has been selected as one of the top 12 finalists for the New Energy Challenge (NEC) 2025! This recognition comes after a highly competitive selection process involving Shell, Rockstart, YES!Delft, and Unknown. Our innovative carbon capture technology has been chosen to advance to the finals, where we will compete alongside other pioneering teams tackling some of the toughest challenges in the energy transition.
What is The New Energy Challenge?
The NEC 2025 is an open innovation competition that connects promising global start-ups and scale-ups in the energy sector with stakeholders to accelerate the decarbonisation of energy systems. This year’s edition focuses on advancements in hydrogen production and use, renewable methane, and carbon removal. The competition offers a platform for cutting-edge innovators to develop emerging technologies that promote sustainability and shape the future of the energy sector at scale.
Next Steps
As a finalist, KC8 will participate in the New Energy Challenge Program, which will run from September to early November. During this period, we will work closely with mentors and experts, including dedicated sessions with Shell experts, to sharpen our collaboration proposals and prepare for the final pitch later this year. The winners will receive tailored support and workshops to accelerate their journey – including strategic guidance, industry exposure, and collaboration opportunities.
We are grateful for this incredible opportunity and look forward to showcasing our innovative solution on the global stage.
Congratulations to all the finalists, and let’s make the future of energy sustainable together.
