KC8 Capture Technologies is currently developing the most sustainable, cost effective, solvent-based carbon capture process available today. Our cutting-edge solution aims to revolutionise the way hard to abate industries address climate change by capturing carbon dioxide emissions from industrial processes.
In 2022, KC8 received a substantial grant from the U.S. Department of Energy to fund Phase 2 of the UNOGAS project. This crucial phase aims to demonstrate the commercial viability of the UNO MK3 technology by applying it to real-world gas combustion exhaust.
The detailed design for the UNOGAS process package is now complete, and procurement is well underway.

What’s Expected of UNOGAS in 2025
2025 is anticipated to be a pivotal year for KC8 and the UNO MK3 technology. Here’s an overview of key milestones expected to be achieved:
- Installation at the National Carbon Capture Center (NCCC) is expected to be completed by March 2025
- Commissioning will be completed by May, ready for a six-to-nine-month test program through 2025. The pilot plant will undergo rigorous testing to validate the technology’s performance, efficiency, and scalability.
