KC8 Attends Annual Victorian Chemical Engineering Industry Night

Last week, KC8 Capture Technologies attended the Annual Victorian Chemical Engineering Industry Night as a Gold Sponsor.

The evening was attended by KC8 Executive Director, Barry Hooper, Engineering Manager, George Wild, Senior Process Engineer’s, Jenna-Lee Fraser and Craig Osborne, and Process Engineer, Prashan De Silva.

The event brought together the vibrant student communities from Melbourne University, Monash University, and RMIT to showcase the future of the chemical engineering industry.

KC8 offered insight on the panel discussion

In addition to the networking opportunities that were available throughout the night, there was also an insightful panel discussion that brought together leading industry professionals. Barry was invited to join the panel discussion, and was on hand to answer a range of questions asked by the university students in attendance.

Barry shared insight into his career history, including his time as a Chemical Engineer at Orica (previously known as ICI Australia). He emphasised the importance for students continuing their research, utilising the resources they have available to them, to further expanding their knowledge within the chemical engineering space.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the teams from the Society of Monash University Chemical Engineers (SMUCE), Melbourne University Chemical Engineering Students’ Society (MUCESS) and Association of Chemical Engineering Students (ACES) for putting together this evening.

The team at KC8 enjoyed getting to know the students in attendance on the night. We look forward to continue to support the future generation of Chemical Engineers.
